 | PV Academy Session 2: Degradation and Reliability of PV Modules
Following the first session on PV fundamentals, the PV Academy will also explore how and why PV modules degrade over time.
Dr David Moser (Becquerel Institute) and Dr Teresa Barnes (NREL) explain
common failure modes, such as light-induced degradation, corrosion, and
solder fatigue – and how materials, design, and environmental
stress affect reliability.
|
The
session also introduces key testing methods, including advanced imaging
and reliability modelling, with insights into system performance and
economic impact.
More details
Whether you're in research, industry, or operations, this session
provides a clear, practical understanding of PV module durability.
