New Round of “Mastering EU Projects” Online Training

The EU Funding Academy is launching a new round of its online training series “Mastering EU Projects” this June. The programme offers practical, in-depth guidance for professionals involved in EU-funded projects, covering key aspects from project implementation to proposal development.

The training consists of four modules: Project Management, Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation, Financial Management, and Horizon Europe Proposal Writing. Each module combines theoretical input with practical exercises and can be booked individually or as a full series.

For more information on the training and how to register, visit the EU Funding Academy website
New PV Academy Recording Available

The tutorial “Degradation and Reliability of PV Modules”, led by Dr David Moser (Becquerel Institute) and Dr Teresa Barnes (NREL), provides an introduction to how photovoltaic modules degrade over time and how their reliability can be analysed and assessed.

The session connects scientific fundamentals with practical approaches, covering key degradation mechanisms, accelerated durability testing, diagnostic techniques, and modelling methods to understand and predict performance losses.

This and other recordings are now available free of charge on the PV Academy website.

Shape the EU PVSEC 2026 Programme and Connect with the PV Community

There is still an opportunity to contribute to the EU PVSEC 2026 programme. Late abstracts are being accepted, offering researchers and experts the possibility to present their latest results and insights in the field of photovoltaics. In addition, organisations can submit proposals for Parallel Events and engage with a diverse international audience from research, industry, finance, and policy. The exhibition also offers a platform to showcase solutions, strengthen market presence, and connect with key stakeholders across the PV sector.

Take the opportunity to contribute to the programme, exchange ideas, and be part of the European PV community.

Project Updates

Advancing Energy Applications for Biomass Pyrolysis Products

The PYRAGRAF project has released its 5th press release, highlighting recent progress in exploring energy applications of biomass pyrolysis products. The update focuses on how by-products such as pyrogas and bio-oil can be used as renewable energy carriers, supporting more sustainable agricultural and forestry systems. By converting agricultural and forestry residues into valuable products, the project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while strengthening local circular bioeconomies.

ICARUS Co-creation Workshop at EUBCE 2026

An ICARUS Co-creation Workshop will be organised on 21 May 2026 in The Hague on the occasion of the 34th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE 2026). This workshop aims to support the development of best practices and concepts across the entire value chain for three technological pathways - biocrude oils to SAF, alcohols/isobutanol to SAF, and syngas to SAF - to accelerate the scale-up of SAF production worldwide.

For more details on the project and workshop, read the full press release.

BioRECAST Workshop at EUBCE 2026

A workshop on "Defossilizing the European steel sector" will be organised on 20 May 2026 in The Hague on the occasion of the 34th European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE 2026). This workshop is organised in the framework of the projects BioRECAST and H2Steel. This workshop will serve to present and discuss activities and results of the two European projects BioRECAST and H2Steel aiming to find promising solutions for the defossilization of the steel sector based on renewable carbon and green hydrogen. Cooperation will be established with IEA Bioenergy Task 33: Gasification of Biogenic and Waste Feedstocks for a Sustainable Future and the IRENA initiative on Decarbonising Hard-to-Abate Sectors.

ESCIB Project published its 5th press release
