WIP at ISEC 2026: Skills Powering the Energy Transition
How can Europe build the workforce needed for a successful energy
transition? This key question was at the centre of Skills4DHC and DH

does the district heating and cooling sector need?” at ISEC 2026 in
Graz.
In an interactive World Café session, participants from across Europe
explored how education and training can strengthen the district heating
and cooling sector. The discussion highlighted clear priorities: closer
cooperation between industry and academia, training tailored to market
needs, continuous upskilling and reskilling, and supportive policies for
long-term workforce development.
