EU PVSEC Satellite Event Webinar: From Grid Congestion to Grid Resilience: The Role of Flexibility Enablers
As photovoltaic deployment accelerates across Europe, grid congestion is
becoming a major challenge for the integration of new renewable energy
capacity. Energy storage, demand response, and smart energy management
solutions offer key opportunities to increase grid flexibility, optimise
existing infrastructure, and unlock additional PV deployment without
immediate grid expansion.
This webinar, co-organised by EU PVSEC and Energy Storage Europe, will
explore how flexible assets can help transform congested grids into
resilient energy systems, with a particular focus on the Dutch context.
The session also serves as a preview of the discussion on “Grid
Congestion Management and the Perspective of The Netherlands” at the
opening of EU PVSEC 2026 in Rotterdam.

GIFFT Report Explores Ash Use in Glass Production
The GIFFT project has published a new report on using biomass and
gasification ashes as secondary raw materials for glass production.
Drawing on ash streams from across Europe, the study assesses how these
residues could partly replace conventional raw materials, supporting
lower CO₂ emissions and greater circularity in the glass industry. The
findings underline the importance of targeted treatment and
characterisation for resource-efficient manufacturing pathways.
