EU PVSEC 2026 Parallel Event - Diversity in PV: Inclusion by Design: Strengthening Leadership and Innovation in PV

At the EU PVSEC, WIP co-organised the workshop “Diversity in PV: Embedding Inclusion by Design – The Leadership Behaviours Driving Innovation, High-Performing Research & Industry Teams,” together with Women in Solar+ Europe and Solar+ Leaders. The session brought together professionals from research and industry to explore how inclusive leadership and open communication can strengthen collaboration. A key takeaway was that inclusion must be embedded in everyday leadership practices and team culture, ensuring that diverse perspectives can meaningfully influence decisions. By creating environments where people feel safe to share ideas, challenge assumptions and contribute their knowledge, the PV community can foster stronger teams and more effective innovation.
RE+ Tech & Innovation Forum: bringing EU PVSEC expertise to North America

We are proudly partnering with RE+ Events to present the RE+ Tech & Innovation Forum, a two-day program taking place November 17–18, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center during RE+ 26, the most comprehensive energy event in North America. The forum is designed to accelerate the path from clean energy innovation to real-world deployment, with sessions on topics like tandem solar technologies, solar and storage O&M, grid stability, AI applications, and long-duration energy storage. Featured speakers include Teresa Barnes (NLR), Radovan Kopecek (ISC Konstanz), Anand Kumar (EPRI) and Vasilis M. Fthenakis (Columbia University), joining applied researchers, technology manufacturers, project developers, EPCs, and asset owners to connect the EU PVSEC community to the North American companies looking for the next innovations.
Transformation Pathways for Clean District Heating & Cooling – 3 November 2026, Brussels

How can Europe accelerate the decarbonisation of district heating and cooling? Join the SupportDHC event Transformation Pathways for Clean District Heating & Cooling to explore practical experiences from 10 DHC systems across six European countries. The programme will connect European policy and investment perspectives with concrete transformation pathways, including the integration of renewable energy and waste heat, and conclude with a discussion on lessons that can be replicated across Europe.

Project Updates

SET Plan Task Forces recommendations published

The recommendations developed by the SET Plan Task Forces on “Circularity and Materials Substitution” (TF1) and on “Access to the Market” (TF5), both led by WIP, have now been published. The Task Forces brought together experts from across Europe to identify practical actions that can enhance circularity and resource resilience across energy value chains, accelerate the deployment of Strategic Energy Technologies, and strengthen European industrial competitiveness. Together with the other SET Plan Task Forces, they contributed to a total of 29 recommendations supporting the implementation of the revised Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) and Europe's clean energy transition. The recommendations are available at the following links: TF1 and TF5.

GENDER4POWER published the report "Report on citizen-led strategies developed at demonstrators’ Level"

Bringing together approaches developed across the six demonstration areas in Austria, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Slovenia and Spain GENDER4POWER published the report on how local communities can take a more active role in tackling energy poverty.

A particular focus of the report is on how local communities can take a more active role in tackling energy poverty. It looks at ways to involve citizens directly through inclusive participation, energy literacy, cooperation with local stakeholders and gender-responsive approaches. By building on local knowledge and experiences, the strategies aim to ensure that solutions respond to the actual needs of people affected by energy poverty.
