The Photovoltaic Technology Platform is a European initiative which aims at mobilising all the actors sharing a long-term European vision for photovoltaic: realising the European Strategic Research Agenda for PV for the next decade(s) and give recommendations for implementation; ensuring that Europe maintains industrial leadership.
The Platform is an independent and objective body which aims to be the recognised point of reference for key decision and policy makers. The Platform’s Mission is to develop a strategy and corresponding implementation plan for education, research & technology development, innovation and market deployment of photovoltaic solar energy, to realise its Vision. The aim of the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform is achieved by the support of its entities.
WIP – Renewable Energy is partner of the Secretariat of the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform (PV TP - SEC). The main objective of the Secretariat is to provide organisational support to the Steering Committee and the other entities of the platform, in particular the working groups. The other partners of the Secretariat are EPIA, the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (coordinator of the Secretariat), the EUREC Agency and the EC JRC (Joint Research Centre).
The Secretariat of the European Photovoltaic Technology Platform is supported by the European Commission with the FP6 and FP7 Programme.
