PV IMPACT

Actual execution of the Implementation Plan for Photovoltaics of the SET Plan and monitoring the Implementation Plan’s delivery

Duration: 2019 - 2022 ● Client: European Commission (H2020) ● WIP Role: Communication, Dissemination, Market uptake, Policy development, Matchmaking events  ● https://pvimpact.eu/

PV IMPACT, coordinated by EUREC (Belgium) will try out a variety of approaches to stimulate the private sector to spend more on PV research, development and innovation in Europe.

What do we plan to do?

Matchmaking and mentoring

PV Impact will invite companies to matchmaking events so they can make new connections and find partners with whom to work on their plans.

We plan 14 highly interactive matchmaking events that serve primarily to bring companies into contact with other companies. The events will cover the five industry-focused Activities of the Implementation Plan. To help relationships formed at the matchmaking take root, the consortium will offer its time to mentor the best proposals that arise there.

Support tailored to industrial companies

The project will target two specific industrial companies:

One, ENEL Green Power, will try to make progress on the Implementation Plan by coordinating the many different PV actors in Italy; the other, Photowatt, will support start-ups and other companies aiming to achieve the objectives of the PV implementation Plan and, at the same time, will use the consortium's expertise and those of scientists whom it will invite to help make the right scientific & technological choices to enhance its industrial business competitiveness with the goal to provide highly reliable and low CO2 solar modules to the market.

Monitor spending and Implementation Plan progress

We will identify current SET Plan country public spending on PV R&D and model it to 2030 based on three scenarios digging into databases of national funding; estimate SET Plan private spending on PV R&D and prepare recommendations to policymakers based on the former. With IWG members’ help, if necessary, we will scour funding databases in order to report on the nature of Implementation Plan-associated projects at portfolio level.
